Who we are and what we do:
As a private tour company dedicated to sustainable tourism practises we recognized negative impacts in villages we and other tour operators from Laos visited. As a responsible tour operator from Luang Prabang we realized that nothing will change without any action. This was the starting point for "Fair Trek" project and the concept for community-based tourism which was founded and put in action through us, Tiger Trail.
With a small team of professionals and consultants we created an idea to promote, regulate and run sustainable tours within our major trekking area in Luang Prabang.
The Marketing Manager and Product Manager Mr. Markus Neuer created the idea of a public private partnership cooperation which can be found in other countries already.
In cooperation and with string support from the SNV Netherlands staff Tara Gudjara we were able to approach a guideline for our project. Early meetings were held with officials to present the idea and to start a new generation of responsible and highly profitable tourism for the involved villages.
